Chapter History
The Jacksonville, FL Alumnae Chapter is a diverse group of women who share the common bond of Zeta Tau Alpha sisterhood.
The Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter was founded May 24, 1969. Our membership consists of sisters from a variety of collegiate chapters across the nation. Our members are business owners, educators, corporate leaders, graduate students and stay at home moms. We are wives, mothers and grandmothers. While our ages, backgrounds, and collegiate chapters may differ, we share a common bond in sisterhood!
We are so proud of our chapter’s and our members’ accomplishments- our membership includes several past and present National Officers, Certificate of Merit and Honor Ring recipients. We are consistently a Crown Chapter winner at Convention! Many of our members also belong to the Jacksonville Alumnae Panhellenic Association (JAPA), where we’ve held several past and present leadership roles.
We offer a variety of events each month to foster friendships, encourage service to the Jacksonville community and network with other professional women.
Additionally, we raise money for the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation.The ZTA Foundation joins in the fight against breast cancer through support of the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® walks and through a partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, whose mission is to prevent and cure breast cancer through advancing research. We are also proud of our partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars. We participate in the handing out of ribbons at a Crucial Catch game each season.
Raising funds for the ZTA Foundation is truly important to us. ZTAF is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization with a mission of providing scholarships, developing leaders among college women, increasing breast cancer awareness and funding for research.
We love our collegiate sisters of the Theta Iota chapter at the University of North Florida! In addition to providing a full advisory board, we plan many joint activities with the collegiate chapter. We strive to set the example that Zeta Tau Alpha is FOREVER!
